Build our Future

11,000 Possibilities and Growing

Preble County is home to over 11,000 kids whose unique abilities are waiting to be developed. You can help them. From providing financial support, to volunteering time, to helping us spread the word of our programs, there is much you can do to have lasting impact on the children; the future of our county.

We’re opening doors and creating new doorways where none existed before. Now that we’ve welcomed the YMCA and Preble County Medical Facility to the area, each year, the PCYF seeks to raise funds toward ongoing program offerings, including YMCA Scholarships, various leadership opportunities, and monthly teen activities.

We have big ideas too — the expansion of our YMCA, attracting a satellite college branch to our county, and creating new programs for kids. Your donation in any way you can give it — monthly, annually, or as a one-time bequest — will bring these ideas to life.

Success through community support

The Preble County Youth Foundation is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to developing programs and facilities for the youth of Preble County, thereby providing them with new opportunities to grow. The idea was conceived and promoted by Judge Wilfrid Dues whose experience both as a father and within the Preble County Juvenile System led him to the belief that the soundest investment we can make is an investment in the development of our youth.

Since 1993, we at PCYF have been successful in raising funds to provide our local youth with enriching activities. In 2003, through the generosity of our donors, we brought the Preble County YMCA and Preble County Medical Center to our community. In addition, from our office in the YMCA, we organize monthly events designed to encourage youth to strive for their highest potential. What will the future hold? Our Youth will lead the way for Preble County.

Our Executive Committee and Board is a dedicated group representing a wide spectrum of careers, interests and viewpoints from across Preble County. We lean on them for their experience with children, school districts, business interests and local knowledge along with their passion and commitment to making Preble County even better for the next generation.

Wilfrid G. Dues: Judge Dues has invested his 31 years as a resident of Preble County by being active in community affairs including many civic organizations. He has worked for 11 years as Prosecuting Attorney, followed by 16 years as a Juvenile Court Judge. He is married, a father of three and a founding member of the PCYF.

Floyd C. Geeding: Farmer and State Cerrtified Appraiser has lived in Jackson Township, Preble his entire life. Involved in many Community, Government, Civic and Church Organizations, he and his wife Ritadell have two grown children and four grandchildren.

Sheriff Michael Simpson: Currently in his 19th year of service with the Preble County Sheriff's Office, Sheriff Simpson is a graduate of Eaton High School and an active member of the Floyd E. Spitler Lodge of the F.O.P., and a Rotarian with the Eaton Rotary Club in addition to several other volunteer boards throughout the county. He lives near Camden with wife Dawna and daughter McKenna.
